# Geo-Location

You can set the geographical location of your story using the location icon next to the 'type' menu at the top left above the story title...

This can be in the format \[postcode, country] or for a more precise location you can enter \[latitude,longitude] coordinates (the blue "map" link will take you to google maps, where you can find these coordinates for any location you define on a google map)

This geo-location data is used when you publish to a WayFinder canvas that has a [geographic view](https://docs.wayfinders.network/apps-and-tools/wayfinder-platform/canvas-layouts/geographic-map) - your story (or other content such as your profile) will be "pinned" to that location on the map.
