# Geo-Location

You can set the geographical location of your story using the location icon next to the 'type' menu at the top left above the story title...

<figure><img src="/files/7PMKKaCNkZm4gWVjn4by" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This can be in the format \[postcode, country] or for a more precise location you can enter \[latitude,longitude] coordinates (the blue "map" link will take you to google maps, where you can find these coordinates for any location you define on a google map)

This geo-location data is used when you publish to a WayFinder canvas that has a [geographic view](/apps-and-tools/wayfinder-platform/canvas-layouts/geographic-map.md) - your story (or other content such as your profile) will be "pinned" to that location on the map.
